Hi Everyone;

I want to try dissolving pan pastels and using an airbrush to get a nice even background then applying pastels. Has anyone tried to do this at all? Am I venturing into new territory? I mainly want to try this to keep the colors consistent, otherwise I would use paint.

Thanks
Martha

I think you may be venturing into new territory! Let us know if it works!

I've seen demonstrations wherein the artist piles the dust on a piece of paper then blows it onto the support, but never would have thought to use an air brush.

Good luck - can't wait to hear about the results.

I think I'd go back and forth with Pans using the sponge tools, but use the airbrush to blow dust off sticks or scrape sticks to get loose dust. I think it migh work. I know some people use air cans to blast pastel off paper to clean it back and add more layers, so airbrush may wind up as a removal tool too.

Going to be interesting! Find out what it does!
