A charcoal sketch done plein air today. A3. A lovely day out with friends.
In a couple of weeks I hope to get back to catch the autumn colours :)

Yes I'm hoping to go when the leaves turn, the old oaks turn beautiful colours. Maybe take oils

Beautiful sketch, Vivien. Blackburn Park is a place I would certainly love to visit. Lucky you living so near to it.

It is a beautiful place with acres of steep rocky hills, a stream, deer herds and the ruins of Lady Jane Greys home - she was beheaded by Henry VIII after a political plot by her family trying to oust him. It was left to the city in Victorian times for people to get out of the town for walks in the country.
