OK, here we go...
For those who doesn't know me, my Name is Tatiana and I'm Your host for September's OP challenge here on Wet Canvas...
Rules of this game are simple...

1) Do not make it complicated - have fun!

2) Use reference photos for Your inspiration. You can modify it as much as You feel like or copy it as close to original as possible - it is up to You.

3) Your medium should be predominantly an Oil Pastel. Mixed media paintings are OK, so far Oil pastel is majority of it.

4) You can post finished painting, progress shots, whatever... But please do not forget to mention what support You are using (canvas, board, paper etc) and what brand of Oil Pastels and whatever also You want to mention about this painting...

5) If Your painting doesn't turn out perfect, it is OK. Do not get frustrated, we are not in competition here... just go back and read rule #1...

Below are Your reference photos for this month:

I made a crop of the trees reference.A4 with gouache underpainting.
The rocks study I decided to do something different and changed the background. Unfortunately the paper made creases while blending

Thank You, Christel!
I personally like both works. Forest study is very convincing.
Rocks... I almost feel the weight of those and it all well balanced. Nice!
have to show it to my husband, it is his "pet project". He picked it up few years ago when we went to Minnesota for one of my workshops with Richard McKinley. They have plenty of those rock "statues" around the Lake Superior... Now my dear spouse builds those every place we go... if there are any rocks around there.

Thanks Tatiana. I did wonder who builds those rock structures

Brand new? This is lovely and I really like the colors on the dark paper, also how you carried the pink through to the feathers.

Christel - lovely landscape, the sky is beautiful and the light is nicer than the reference photo. Cool rocks, good job of giving them form.

Poulpi - Great light in your landscape, love the sunlight hitting the tree trunks. Great job.

hugashimp - super cute interpretation of the ducklings, I love it! Good idea to crop the image and focus in on a couple of them. The colors are gorgeous!
