MY COMMENTS:
Hi to everyone,

I'm new to the forum and new to painting. This is my 1st attempt at watercolor painting. The image was hand draw from a reference.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Critique away please, I do not have any formal training and I am going about it by myself. Any advice etc will be appreciated.

I think the nose is very much too low. If you move it up though I'm sure you will find the mouth is too far away from it. Once you fix one problem more problems reveal themselves. The colors are nice for the most part. However, avoid shading with black. Like under the chin. Especially on skin, it will always give it kind of a dirty look.

That's pretty. If you can be serious and realistic without losing the prettiness ...

If you do a google search, you can probably find websites that will rotate your image for you. I found this one very easily:

You can also google 'drawing facial proportions'. But don't use the first one you find. Check several. They vary in quality and usefulness.

Is it meant to be viewed sideways? If so, you might consider signing it, so that there is no mistake.

Here we are turned around :) I like the style and the little finished offset curl. It might be hard to judge as some cameras tend to skew the picture, but the nose does seem to be to far down. Other than that the coloring is very nice.

Agree about the nose, otherwise, it's fine.
