Beautiful colors and the water looks great. The slant of the water seems a bit disconcerting but nonetheless, it's a lovely piece

Because of the slant of the canyon walks and the dropping of the river, this bit has always made people wonder what they were actually looking at.
I am trying to upload my reference photo, but it may or may not show up

ah, i see now
i think you just need more vertical strokes in the rock structures, a fair pile of them.
way to challenge yourself, very tricky subject, when it looks odd in reality it looks more odd in a photo and even more odd in a painting.

I can see what is going on with the ref photo included. The scale of the angle makes more sense in the ref. The proportions do not seem to be the same in your painting. Good start in capturing the water and cliffs in such a small format.

Very good, I like the colours. I agree with La about the verticals and the line of the river should be straighter for the brain to level things out.

Studying the vertical reflections of the rocks in the river in the ref photo helps to explain the unfamiliar orientation of the waterline; if you paint this scene again, including the rocks' reflections will help orient viewers. Fantastic scene!

Congratulations on the sale

I love the colours you've used and the slightly abstract feel to it.
