GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: The Weatherglass
Year Created:
Medium: Oil
Surface: Canvas
Dimension: 10x12?
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
I painted this study in attempt to use broader more painfully brush strokes and thicker paint, but retain realism. Like John Singer Sargent.

I went for a complimentary color scheme (yellow/violet)

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Specific oil painting questions in addition to general color, lighting, value, etc:

At the end I applied some local glazes in attempt to deepen and enrich the color. And then I tried to put a uniform glaze of medium over the entire thing to give the a uniform finish (not patchy). But it made it really shiny and you can see the brushstrokes in the final layer. Was this a mistake?

How do you finish an oil painting properly?

I like it a bunch. Love dark and mysterious. Re the glaze, etc. I would get some retouch varnish (make sure it's oil based) spray paint and spray it.
