Had a lovely day painting with friends at a farm. Did 2 small landscapes and 2 pages of quick chicken studies. Not something I normally get the chance to do.

S&B square sketchbook.

First one ... The models weren't good at keeping still!

It wasn't easy! Hence the scribbly quick sketches. I wanted to catch their shape and colour and movement. There are a couple more to come and the landscapes but I have to wait to put them on as I'm on the iPad.

I tried sketching chickens before, those things don't stand still for a second! Talk about a challenge! Nice job on these.

Not easy sketching these delightful creatures. You did jolly well.

Love your fast chickens! Now you're inspiring me again. Great gestures and forms, they come alive for you. My daughter sends chicken photos every now and then, I might have a go but time them.

Timing would be a good idea to make you work fast and gestural. I was at a life class at the weekend that left you breathless the speed he made us work!
