This is a wonderful colourful little village in the Cape Province - South Africa.

Debby and JJ. Glad you enjoyed them. Thanks for the positive feedback. I love journalling and delighted to find this forum.

Shannon. Thank you. I used waterproof pen and watercolour. I do most of my work in my journals with pen and wash - sometimes with acrylics and mixed media.

Nice to see you here Chammi, (though I've long been absent myself). You sketches are very lively and colorful, great job.

Nice to be here David. I have so enjoyed looking at some of the posts. Could spend all day if I had the time. Thanks a lot for the nice words.

EP. They are really not that complex. I draw the big shapes first and then add detail. These probably took me about 3/4 hour each. I love higgledy piggledy houses and colour so it was fun.

Lots of nice work accomplished in such short time! I've been observing and hope to give it a go in the near future. Yours are particularly nicely done and gives lots of material covered in each one.

Thanks Jon.:) Do give it a go. It is worth it - gives one so much material for future paintings.

Thanks very much Kay and Vivien. Glad you liked them.

Sorry Doug after reading the rules, some facts...

I use a large sketchbook (My Travel Journal) . It is A2 Size and a local German make by the company Boesner. The paper takes watercolour well and is 200gsm
- very slightly off-white.

Love the sketches as the first is a moment captured in time and the second I can picture the village in my mind.

Gorgeous color! I love the way you captured the variety in the houses and the lively poses of the people in the first one. Glorious sense of sunlight and warmth and sociable ease. You made me wish I could visit this place - with all my art supplies!
