Moorlands house is a heritage listed house on the grounds of Wesley Hospital. You can about it here (http://www.yourbrisbanepastandpresent.com/2010/05/moorlands.html) if you like..

My first sketch is the Widows walk Cupola, on top of the tower (see photo below)
A4 Holcroft 225 gsm Sketchbook watercolour and 0.3 pitt pen

The main gates, with the Brisbane River behind, and the Gas Stripping Tower at West End on the far bank.
The gates were at the other end of the property, but when the house was restored, they were moved to the front and saved.. (same sketchbook)

Thank you for looking..

All those balconies stacked like a wedding cake! It must have been interesting to sketch.

Gorgeous sketches of a striking, complex building. This is inspiring. Love the cupola especially, that's glorious.

Thanks Robert. It sure was complex, and for me, hard to draw looking up at it. It was hard to get any distance between me and the building with the Wesley Hospital right behind, and Coronation Drive below. Pity.
