I was lucky enough, to win a double pass to the theatre, to see a stage play called "Australia Day" It was a great show, and very funny. I laughed a whole lot.. I also got to sketch a little seeing as the stage lights were on. All sketches were done in my A5 Holcroft 225 gsm sketcbook with a pitt pen and my wee pocket palette. (I carry these in my handbag at all times, just in case :)

Setting up the stage..

The committee members in their meeting. I was sketching on top of sketches here.

The meeting got heated, and was very funny. Again sketches upon sketches..

Finally something static on stage. Props for the barbeque and impending rain.. Rain was welcomed as there was a drought and a total fire ban. The contradictions in the play made it even funnier.. Satire at it's best.

The Lord mayor.. Putting on his pads ready for a cricket game, which didn't happen because it rained.

Thank you for looking.. :)

Nice sketches from the theatre. It pays to be prepared to sketch at all times.

Great sketches! I loved the overlapping ones, something about it you got those just perfect. Like the boring confusion of any committee meeeting. Well done! Gorgeous little still life with the fire extinguisher and umbrellas. All of these are so cool.

Thanks so much Robert. I had a ball sketching these. The actors did move around a lot, they were full of energy and it was a great play. Very funny.
