Hi Just finished this today. Included a detail. It's 16x20. It looks a little better IRL than in the photo but best viewed from a distance.
Crits/comments welcome. Thanks for looking.

The blossoms seemed too busy. Here's the update:

I think I prefer the first Chris - more impressionistic.
I like the detail too - a painting on its own! I like the colours and feel of that tree!

thanks Maureen! I'm agreeing with you. I should change it back or maybe crop it down to an aceo around that tree trunk. :)

Yeah, I like the first one better. At least you still have a digital copy of it.

I like your painting Christopher. The pink colour is great. Like the others I don't think the first one was too busy, but I know what you mean as it is hard to get the balance correct on leaves (at least I struggle with that"a lot). But I like the drama of the second with its almost canvas like canopy over the tree trunks.

I like it but I think it needs more contrast. Darken the shadows maybe, on the right side. I like the second version better. I agree with you that it was too busy before.

Lovely painting of cherry blossoms...I would change only the dirt at the base of the trees, especially the tree in the forefront. Bring the grass over the edge or flatten it out a little...other than that, love the vibrancy and colors..makes me want to take a walk there!
