Originally by Paul Hardy it was a a painting I tried to do myself.
I'm pleased with the results.

I used Strathmore pastel paper 400 series with Mungyo pastels for building colors then switched to Rembrandt,Schmincke and Mount Vision for the finish. 9"x13"

I'm so impressed by your willingness to tackle such a complicated landscape. I have just a few thoughts to share. What if you made a few small strokes on the bridge, to give the appearance of stone? Nothing too bold, but a bit subtle. I think a few horizontal lines, to break up the reflection on the water, could add a bit more interest. As always, it is your painting, and carefully consider any changes before you lift a pastel, because it is fine as is.

It is an ambitious undertaking! I like how you've handled the bushes and grasses, especially on the left.

Much of the other color is not harmonious and some values could be adjusted. Do you see the how there are grays in the foreground bushes, bridge, and sky? They connect the painting together in color, as do other colors in other areas. Note also, the sky and reflection are the lightest areas.
