It was a perfect day for painting in the mountains yesterday so I spent the morning painting by Big Cottonwood Creek in the Utah Wasatch Mountains. The creek was running deep and fast with all that spring runoff even though we did have a fairly dry winter, (but a very wet spring for a month!).

This first one is 8" X 6"

Wow, two in one morning? I feel like I'm not doing enough now! A great effort. I especially like the detail of the rocks on the second painting and the movement of the water - it came out very nice. Keep it up!

Those are nice. I especially like the movement you get in the first one.

I also like the first one best. There is lovely movement of water over the rocks. The second looks a little like masses of shredded paper cascading down. All the rocks are great.

These look great - makes me want to get out of bed earlier to paint!

Thanks Melly, Michelle, Cliff, Chammi, Jennifer, Joao.

Jennifer, there are a couple advantages to getting an early start, you beat the crowd and you beat the heat.
