Fun FUN to do.
Bronze/gold paint for the b/g
I used my handy dandy little tool to make the swirls. Let dry
I used a light light brown Tombow pen to sketch the horses:

10 minutes to paint, 10 minutes to do the swirls. 10 minutes to sketch

Then I used a variation of the 3 primary colors to create a muddy mix to paint some of the b/g and parts of each horse:

Less than an hour

And some close ups:

very nice effect. I have reservations about the almost exact symmetry though, especially since it is right down the center of the canvas.

Valri. I think this is great. Most creative and I love those harmonious colours. It looks like a tapestry.

It's not down the middle at all. Check again and PLEASE note there is NO symmetry. :smug:

The painting itself looks like clay, I love it. I have never heard of bronze/gold paint. Also, gallery wrapped canvas is a term I have heard on Facebook, but never looked it up.

I don't know about other countries but in the US and Canada there are 2 types of primed stretched canvas's to buy. Studio wrap is 3/4 inch deep, whereas the gallery wrap is 1 3/4 inch deep.

As far as the bronzed gold paint, it was a purchase mistake that I have not regretted. I meant to buy raw sienna....OOPS!

I was wanting to know how painters go about creating those gold rims and goblets. Maybe they just use gold paint?
