How can I know whether a particular brand is artist grade paint? I saw an add for Holbein heavy body and fluid acrylics in Acrylic Artist Magazine. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Google where? I know that is what Holbein says, but how is one to know?

If you google "Holbein Acrylic Paint" you will get some paint reviews in the results. Have a read through some of those for some more objective feedback. I haven't used them (or even seen them up here yet) so I can't give first hand feedback.

I wouldn't excpect the company to be deliberately misleading, though. So I suspect they are indeed artist quality as claimed.

Happy sleuthing!

Thanks, ColinS. I took a look and found some reviews. I have not read anything negative. I may give them a try.

Google works...if you're in a store they're usually in a certain section or it says on the tube somewhere.
