i used terry ludwig, rembrandt, and prismacolor nupastels. i tried to section part of it so with masking tape and it ripped the top a bit. is there anyway i can cut the paper with a mat cutter? i am asking because it is colorfix sanded paper which is why i am asking.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/12-Jun-2015/1732429-rsz_dsc_7931.jpeg

This is quite a lovely painting. It feels like this little guy is hopping around on the bare branches in winter. I'm sorry to hear about the tear. I'm not sure where it is in this painting, but if I have to crop a finished piece, I very carefully use scissors.

The pumice may give your paper cutter a bit of trouble, as it's meant for... paper. It may also dull the blade some. I would suggest a stainless ruler and sharp-bladed mat knife- the stainless will not catch on the blade (finger danger!), and you may replace the blade easily if it dulls.

It's a lovely sparrow. Good luck. I use a mat cutter to cut color fix sanded paper.

Beautiful job on this! I couldn't see the tear. How about a dab of clear gesso or pastel ground as a glue and then pastel over it?

Just use a ruler as a guide and cut the paper with a box knife blade.
