WIP. The last one was the back end. This will be up front. Very difficult to judge the sizes of personnel and a/c from this view point. Most pics are either higher or lower VP, and are usually with the crews 'manning' the side
One of the 'light fleets', plenty to choose from, Ocean, Glory, Theseus, Vengeance, etc. also Australian and Canadian as well.Even Brazil, Argentina, India!. UK government got their money's worth with thes ships.
PS this will be more than an afternoon, beautiful weather, and the weekend coming up, will prolong it.

Do it RCN with the dark grey Furies. Can't remember if that would make it Maggie or the Warrior.

13,190 tons.....FD 690'X80' = about the size of a Rowing Boat :D
I saw your post on shippy boat thingy, I am still amazed at the clarity of your photographs
Nice pic btw :)

Lenny, on here 800 pix is pretty useless, but gives an idea of the picture. On
WNSF, I post 1990 pix, I know that means they are downloadable at a reasonable resolution, but that's ok with me. The other size I use on other forums is 1024 pix a much better result than 800.
Of the hundreds of paintings I have posted on the net I have only seen ones I have given permission, for being used on other sites.

Jim, I've been following your work for a while now and I must say this one has impressed me the most! Love the detail in the aircraft.

Thanks Lester, this one has worked quite well and I think the Forward deck park has the 'flavour'of the real thing. The Seafurys, well one looks not too bad, the left hand one is a bit like a Thunderbolt with a spinner, and the one taxi-ing out of the wires, looks a bit like one of the later Japanese fighters. At two inches and one and a half inches, freehand they are about as good as I can get.
I wanted to do a painting showing the ship in reasonable detail, and something other than a Launch or Recovery, I think this worked. At least with it all happening in such a small space, half the personell are just legs!.
I might try one of Typhoons or Tempests doing the same thing at an RAF dispersal, bags more room, people and equipment. Anyway my paintings usually arrive on the spur of the moment, so the next could be anything.
