Hi folks, have not posted for a while, but have been busy looking!
Here is my latest effort, 380 x 270mm on canvas covered board, painted from a picture taken on a Christmas trip down the Danube a couple of years ago.
Took a while, but I am pleased with the result, Hope you like it:wave:
Cheers, Ian Wildey.

Sweet. I'd enjoy this morning stroll.

I especially like the excellent use of perspective and accurate architectural details in the buildings - Windows the correct heights as they recede and the single horizon to which they point.
Thank you!

We were there for the Christmas Markets in 2012. I think that you did a great job with this. The most attractive feature of the city for me were these walks along the extensive river fronts. You took me back, thanks. Gary

Nice painting. I like how you suggested the distant buildings while putting greater detail into the closer buildings.

Ian , I remember walking along that same area when the river was rising dangerously. I did a cycle trip from Passau to Vienna. This painting of Passau has an 19th century romantic feel about it. Really nice.

I love the stone walkway and the contrast of the smooth rocks next to the rough rocks at the waters edge.
The colors are vibrant and gives a feeling of tranquility.

Thanks heaps Serilium and Carol, took a fair while to do and at the last had forgotten to put some people in it, so I added them and that seemed to finish it!
