Hey all this is my first ever acrylic painting, on cotton canvas paper

The reference I used was a photograph I had taken while departing the sydney harbour on a cruise.

Unfortunately the tape took off some of the paper and the paint however I'm happy with my first attempt. Hope you guys like to

Cheers LeeAnne

Takes me back to our visit in March.

The uploaded picture is preferred as several pictures (up to 15) pictures can be placed anywhere on your post and we can scroll down and review the picture when we reply. That isn't possible with attached pictures which all go at the bottom of the post and can't be seen when we reply.

Incidentally when uploading pictures always put a newline before and after uploading to separate them from the text.

Welcome to the Acrylics Forum LeeAnne. I like your painting with its vivid sunset colours and the iconic outline of the Sydney Bridge. Well done. Too bad about the tape taking a bit off.

Thanks for all of your comments. I know there is still a lot to work on.
I might try and attempt this one again in the future when I improve my skills and technique. But overall I'm happy with first attempt

Argh! I've been trying to figure out how to do that. Don't want to hijack the thread with another topic, so will you point us to the place in WC that gives detailed instructions?

Thanks!

wow really thank you so much for all of your comments.

the painting is on an A3 size canvas paper, so the painting size is around 16.5 inches in length by 6 inches in height.

I really loved painting my first piece and have many more ideas to come ;)

thanks all
