Black can be very provocative. Like here. Well done.

Depends on how it is used. In this case you made good use of it.

I love working with Black paint, though I mix the blacks myself. Its amazing how many blacks you can make.

Indeed!!!!

Agree, depends how it's used - can be expressive, or deadening ....... the former here, of course!

I should have mixed a little blue in the black! whats strange is if I import it into Photoshop and bring up the saturation level,it turns blue!why? just put 2nd coat of clear, now looks deeper.

That looks very stylish. Actually everything looks better in black. So yeah, I love black paint.

Definitely a time and place to use black paint! I find I don't use it so much in landscapes but my more abstract work I tend to use it a bunch.

Great work on the portrait! Very well done.

Good work!

The light gives it a blue tint, that's why photoshop would turn it blue.

For darks in acrylic I use black all the time, but never by itself, it's always in a mixture.

Really like your BBK painting, LG. Did you use any white in the details?

Great paintings! I love black paint too!

There was a time where I didn't have any, but after awhile I was like "ok for this technique I actually NEED black."

I used a tiny bit of white on signature and fingers, long time ago,30years? my art teacher said a true artist never uses white and never black, what! hogwash! that was with watercolors. my new pop art venture will use lots of black,I like the positive negative look, sometimes less is more.
