Today's date not only looks quite cool but has the advantage of being comprehensible to those in both the US and the UK!!

Well, I booked today off work so that I could spend a whole day pastelling. I've breakfasted, printed off some ref photos, wasted a while on the forums and am now heading up to my art room to play :D

What's everyone else up to?

Good morning E-J I am just so green  with envy! Looking forward to seeing your latest... a whole day of pasteling, must be a lovely experience! I MISS MY DUST! :crying: By the way, love your new tiny head... that was a dazzling painting!

YUK this has been an awful week for me... I'll just leave it at ... I'll be glad when the new week begins!

Off to another antique car junk fest here on the east coast of the US (glad this is the last one of the season... no more til spring... hurray!) I can see I have a lot of catching up to do here... have a good day everyone, should be back in the mix soon. Miss you all! Take care... Sharon :D

Have fun, E-J!

Bad hair weeks suck, Sharon, but then comes the glut of GOOD stuff :)

Bye Soap, enjoy Holland which I always imagined must be beautiful and fun!

I'm off to the 3rd of 4 dentist torture sessions.. er.. visits. *sigh* Almost

Drawing classes start up tuesday again! WOOHOO

Sitting here with my coffee, trying to get my brain to kick in.
Had to supervise a school dance last night. 500 11-to-13-year-olds.
Oh, the lights! Oh the music! Oh, the sugar consumption! Oh the tears and drama! We have a lot of drama queens in the youngest grade. Sheeeesh, what a night.
The dentist....I'd rather scrub toilets than go to the dentist, so you have my utmost sympathy, Jen!
The English date recording makes more sense than the North American system, because it's in the logical order. I wish we used it here. In Canada it seems both systems can be used...hows that for confusing?
Uh-oh, there's the bell. Come on, brain, get functioning!
Have a calm day, everyone! :D

Hi everybody hope you all enjoy your day,
EJ,happy pastelling.
Soap, i hope you have a good trip,
Greeble, sooner you than me,hope its just a quick filling and brushup,
Well its afternoon already, thinking about lunch, spent the morning putting up all my pics from frankfurt, posted them under countries,i only used my kodak easyshare digi camera,no telephoto, zoom or wide angle lenses so they are quick touristy pics as there were so many people around, you set up for a pic and people keep walking in front of you and blocking out the scene, anyway if anyone is interested then i hope it will give you some idea of what frankfurt looks like, hopefully when i go thro each pic i can zoom in on certain areas enlarge anything i find interesting to paint .ok LUNCH now

Hello all, my week is over, so its the weekend family time! Time to dust off, rest and relax. However, I have my brother-in-law looking for a part to help me finish my homemade easel pictured below. The board leaning up front will go in the back and be able to fold. It looks dark, I think its going to rain here real soon.

Greeble, Drawing classes! How so? Will you be brushing up on basic drawing skills? Any models? Or will you get into different mediums?

E-J, nice tiny head!

Soap, have a safe trip.

Everyone else, have a good weekend!

It's my Birthday and I'll paint if I want to... paint if I want to... paint if I want to.... You'd paint too if it happened to you....

(words to a song from the 50's I'm singing)

Off to celebrate by buying some art supplies (what a shock!) and then paint a model from 1-4 and finally a great dinner this evening at my favorite local restaurant. A pretty great day all around.

EJ - thanks for celebrating my b'day the same way as I am - painting.

Sophie - safe travels.

Jen - Glad I don't have to go to the dentist on my b'day. ouch

Stoy - you said it was time to dust off and relax. Does that mean you get to create pastel dust?

Guilli - have fun finding the right photo to paint. I love doing that.

Wendy - enjoy the weekend and rest up from the kids.

Sharon - hope next week is better for you.

Ok - off to prep some paint surfaces and go PAINT!!!!

Grumble...grumble....we are back up in Maine and it is absolutely gorgeous. I have been waiting for this kind of scenery and weather. Absolutely perfect.
And I am sick! Crappy UTI...had to go to the ER this morning in fact. I'm on Cipro which is making me groggy and I feel lousy and I keep looking out the window and getting annoyed. I would love to paint but I just don't have the energy...and besides, I keep running to the bathroom! :D Oh well...hopefully the meds will kick in before the weather turns crappy on Sunday.

Happy birthday Barb! You have a super day and an absolutely fabulous year!!!!

Haaaaapy Birthday Barb!!! :D :D :D
Enjoy your painting day. (And I'm going to have that Lesley Gore song in my head the rest of the day :) )

Aww, Sandy, sorry you're sick. It's gorgeous here, too, 1 1/2 hours north of the Maine border.

I was concerned to see some dissing of this forum in one of the other forums. Very perplexing.

And now the long weekend begins! Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

!?!?!? What was that about! That's not nice!!!!

I took a mess of motrin and am feeling a bit better, thanks. I did a little 'study" of the gorgeous color out the window. I tried setting up outside but just didn't have the energy to do it. Maybe tomorrow afternoon.

No, I dust myself off ;) I try to cut back and spend more time with the family, since the weeks are so hectic, it is like I don't see anybody!

Sandy, get well soon!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I'm currently taking Dawn's advice to Sandy and drinking a G&T for my health. Then we're off to dinner!
