A bit of a new thing for me. Getting the light dancing on the water was tricky. Almost like painting with light.

There is a gorgeous, abstract feel to this one. Nicely done!

Pam, this is fantastic! You captured the light refracting in the water, the ripples and currents, the changes in depth, the rocks. .. it's wonderful! I love it. Seascapes always delight me but this one makes me feel like I'm wading and looking for anemones!

Thank you everyone for your kind remarks and encouragement. I have been trying to capture a painting like this for years. The foreground water in the last one looked like crazy paving, the one before that looked like a jigsaw. I must admit I was more interested in the foreground (should that be forewater?) than the rest of the scene. I was very worried about the greens, as some of you know I'm a bit colourblind. I will certainly try to do more paintings like this in between painting dogs of course!

All I can say is....WOW!!
I couldn't believe my eyes,thought it was a photograph!
Excellent rendering the refracted light on the sandy bottom and you captured the light dancing on the surface of the water and the protruding center rock formation!

It's a beautiful painting. You have really captured the intensity of the sunlight on the water. I'm delighted to say I've been to Esperance. Our daughter lives in Perth and took us on a tour of the southern part of WA. We had a wonderful time.
