This is a commission to go with the Medals of Les Munro at the Museum of Transport and Technology
Oil on Linen 20x24"
Since starting this I have gone back and changed the life jackets and uniforms in the Stirling painting to bring them more to the colouring of in this painting.

bit more done today. I will leave this part alone for a while and start painting the lancaster and go back to the figure later as I still have work to do on the face and hands but want to see how it looks with more paint around it.

Trumpet I have not done anything re the flesh and the perplex of the cockpit front. Will leave that to dry then put that in. Then age on the bottom of the fuselage and put in the rivets there.

was this from a ref photo don? if not the hand positioning is very good indeed. hard to make them look natural.
