Hello everyone. It is a pleasure to post exciting images for your artistic leisure this long weekend! I'm a bit early but have an art show to do :D

I will be posting 16 images.

Please wait until all are uploaded before commenting - thank you. ;)

You have 30 minutes to make your choice and choose your materials - you may use any medium.

For the next two hours, just go for it……then STOP!, scan or photograph your work and post it in your own new thread with your title, beginning with WDE, plus date, plus title.

When you introduce your work, please add a description of size, medium, support (paper, canvas etc) and time taken.
If your work is digital, we'd appreciate a description of whether it's freehand drawing/painting, manipulated image or done using the filters available in some programmes - you could also say which programme you've used.
All are acceptable but we'd like to know the "hows, whys and wherefores"!!

Use WIP for any work in progress at the 2 hour mark, and MI for multiple images if other works are to be added before the following Monday.

NB. To avoid forum flooding, please put all of your work during the weekend, for the current WDE, into a single thread: multiple threads will be merged!
From the following TUESDAY, you may open a new thread for later work.

You have the whole week to participate - until the next WDE starts (usually Friday). If you finish a piece after that time, please post in its own thread and try to give the date/host of that particular week - if you can!

After posting your contribution, please view others’ entries and comment and encourage when you can. Unless requested, please refrain from critiquing.

All are my own photos except four from the morguefile.com used with permission and are in my RIL section. A challenge will be outlined at the end.

In case new artists are unsure what sketchbook style is, here's a small patio scene of mine to give an idea:

I think I remember that tang horse...didnt' you use it in SBS? It was very cool what I remember of it. You'd written some words as it's mane?
Great photos and thanks for hosting, not sure I'll have time but I'll be looking in over the weekend.

Great images, Kay. I wish I could spend the whole week with them. Maybe I will.

My apologies for including three flower refs that are pink. Eeek! I drew the Tang horse from life in the first Sketchbook Skool course, then subsequently sold it to a fellow artist in Australia.

this looks like fun. Might do some sketchbooking tomorrow. Although there is one ref that is just so tempting and perfect for me. Bet ya can guess? (not feathered or fur this time.)
btw those pink flowers look great against the black background.
Son is here all weekend as he has theatre auditions for Little Shop of Horrors so I can't use the table so I'll do what I can.

Lovely images Kay! I like the challenge too, I've recently got into ink sketching so this will be good practice. I want to do them all!

Your patio sketch is lovely. :)

I have done the challenge just using a pen in my sketchbook. I used it as a practice session on quickies allowing 5 to 10 mins for each. I was going to see how many I could do in an hour but I kept stopping to watch the Eurovision Song Contest, so I decided that it would be better just to limit each one,

I'll post them tomorrow.

Hello, I have not done much lately, wanna start drawing again,
this is the old man with the cigar, 2.5"x3.5" Strathmore Bristol,
smooth surface, with .3mm and .5 mm mechanical pencils, 2b-b
leads. About 1.5 hours maybe. I get bored.
