This was quite a serious occurance as quite a few ships were lost when they couldn't clear the ice fast enough. Several trawlers were lost post war due to this in the hay days of the Arctic and Icelandic fisheries.

Hi D'Arcy, painted the ship then iced it with neet Gouache White, more or less where spray would reach.
