I did a crop in on this magnificent creature.

Still experimenting with pastel pencils on different surfaces.

'Horse With Pale Mane'
12 x 9 ins
Uart 600 grit sanded art paper
various pastel pencils.

This is a big piece for pastel pencils, well done you ! Beautifully drawn, and the rich colours emphasize his volume and contours. I can just feel his powerful muscles under his sleek coat. Wonderfully done !

To be honest I have no idea how I made the sheen on his coat, I just did. I think it could be the way I blended the lights. Half the time I don't know what I'm doing anyway lol He wasn't shiny in the ref. I just wanted to make him look strong.
