Hi Karen, and welcome to the WDEs!
I rotated the images for you. Your computer likely has some image editing software on it. Windows Picture Manager is one example.
Lovely, colorful Macaw. I like the shine on the beak contrasted with the texture of the feathers.
Nice work on the dancer sketch. I like how you did her hair with just a few strokes.
Glad you decided to join in and post your work this week.

Thanks Wendy for rotating my pictures...
I posted using my tablet and the pictures looked fine until I uploaded them... Lol
Thanks for the comments on my work Anne and Valri...
I don't have much experience with watercolor, but wanted to try the Inktense pencils I got as
I'm a self taught artist as my career is not in art but helping animals... :cat:
Really enjoy this site...

good figure study of the dancer but my favourite is the macaw as you've made him look so cheeky

Both are really well done. Love the vibrant colors on the Macaw.

Welcome to our world Karen!:)
Good macaw and well done with the figure, especially as it's out of your comfort zone!
RE the tablet - you probably took these using portrait format, and as they'll be saved that way, they come up sideways when uploaded - nuisance for you!
You could try re-orienting them before saving to your 'Gallery' - worth a try.
Otherwise, email or upload to your computer and re-orientate there.:)

Nice work on both Karen and welcome!

Welcome, Karen ! I feel you 'animal attraction' in the macaw, he's lush, and I like how the background is 'feathery', like a bird. Figure drawings can be intimidating, but good for you, you tackled it and did well ! Especially nice handling of head, neck and hair !
