Hi there
It is my pleasure to host this week's WDE

I will be posting 16 images.

Please wait until all are uploaded before commenting - thank you.

You have 30 minutes to make your choice and choose your materials - you may use any medium.

For the next two hours, just go for it……then STOP!, scan or photograph your work and post it in your own new thread with your title, beginning with WDE, plus date, plus title.

When you introduce your work, please add a description of size, medium, support (paper, canvas etc) and time taken.
If your work is digital, we'd appreciate a description of whether it's freehand drawing/painting, manipulated image or done using the filters available in some programmes - you could also say which programme you've used.
All are acceptable but we'd like to know the "hows, whys and wherefores"!!:)

Use WIP for any work in progress at the 2 hour mark, and MI for multiple images if other works are to be added before the following Monday.

NB. To avoid forum flooding, please put all of your work during the weekend, for the current WDE, into a single thread: multiple threads will be merged!
From the following TUESDAY, you may open a new thread for later work.

You have the whole week to participate - until the next WDE starts (usually Friday). If you finish a piece after that time, please post in its own thread and try to give the date/host of that particular week - if you can!:)

After posting your contribution, please view others’ entries and comment and encourage when you can. Unless requested, please refrain from critiquing.

PLACES, IVE BEEN, THINGS I'VE SEEN, THINGS I LIKE, WELCOME TO A WINDOW ON MY WORLD

#7 KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOUR
Wouldn't us girls want to be whisked away by a chivalrous knight in shining armour. Well here's the nearest you're gonna get. From the local Bosworth Battle field reenactment just 15 mins away from us. The site where Richard III (King in the car park) died.

#8 WAITING FOR THE FERRY
On a typical wet day in the English Lake District at Lake Coniston. The lake where Donald Cambelll met his death trying to break the speed record. Across the water is the home of the artist, philanthropist and art critic John Ruskin. The ferry goes there.

I thought these were surf boards but they are a type of kayak. Later a group of young people arrived and took them down the ramp to the sea just behind this wall. We park here in Fishguard a lot with a beautiful view up the harbour or the open sea the other side.

#10 DAHLIA
I love to visit gardens. Walled gardens, botanical gardens, stately home gardens..... loved these flowers when I saw them.

#13 ASTLEY CASTLE
A few miles away from me is Astley Castle. It lay in ruins for a long time but has recently been restored and now you can hire it to stay in. It has several rooms and a nice big open area with fitted kitchen and cosy stove.
Lady Jane Grey spent some time there before she had her head chopped off.

#14 MALHAM COVE
This is a natural sheer rock face in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. My brother lives in the area and we like to get out over the dales if we can while we're there. It is an extremely popular trekking area. I, sadly, never visited the area in my walking days. It is beautiful.

#15 ST. DAVIDS
Smallest city in Britain, St. Davids is the seat of SW West Wales named after the patron saint who was born there. It's another of the places we visit each year. There is a fantastic art gallery there and a mile away is the end of the mainland where the cliffs fall and the view is stunning.
There is also an iconic cathedral and ruined Bishops Palace.
There is a great fish & chip shop too.

#16 BLUEBELL WOODS
On the outskirts of our town we have some magnificent bluebell woods. I love to go there in spring where the floor is covered in a blue carpet.

That happens sometimes when we post directly with phones or tablets. I usually save mine to a folder then rotate them and do them from there.
That was probably what happened.

OH how I wish I had time to join in this one.. I have so much on my plate right now no time to breath. I LOVE the first photo of the blue and gold macaw along with the greenwing and military macaw in the background. I just drooled over ALL of the photos. I am excited to see what everyone does.
