24 x 36 on canvas. This is something I am working on. I took a photo of it and then added some of the highlights in "paint" just to see where I might go with it. Was wondering if anyone else has tried this and also if they found it helpful.

It's one way to get ideas certainly. If it works for you, great. I would certainly try it. Even if it doesn't work out, it's just another layer of paint.

Some of the marks you've put in are adding interest in my opinion.

Good idea . If you are happy with the process, give it a go. Looking forward to your painting.

Finally finished this one. There are things I like about it and things I would change if I did it again. I suppose this is true about anything we do. C & C welcome.

Nice colors, nice sense of depth, like the water, the deciduous trees, rocks, sky and so on. Overall very nice.

Minor nit, not sure about those pines. Too uniformly triangular IMO.

Lovely!

Maybe the fairies have been pruning the spruce trees. :lol:This looks like a place you would expect to see fairies flitting about.

Definitely agree about the shape of the trees. the painting is 24 X 36 on stretched canvas. There are fairies in the painting you just have look really hard. :-)

Rather nice! Perhaps some of the repeated shapes are a little too regular but even so, well done overall!
I think we all are seldom satisfied with our work!
