Hi Everyone!
I choose to paint the photo of the mannequins. I knew painting all of the mannequins would be a little much for me, so I ended up painting a cropped version of the photo. What is sort of ironic is I ended up getting caught up in the photo anyways and spent a total of 4 hours on this piece. The last 45 minutes was trying to get the nose to look like one. I usually don't paint people, so I had really forgotten how difficult noses are to paint.

I ended up buying new oils this week, since mine were starting to "seem" old. (I still buy those packs of paints that come in 12 or 24 counts.) Well, the new ones had more of a liquid viscosity than I am used to using. I am not sure if there is something wrong with them, or my others were really old. :clear: Anyways, I painted this piece with oils on a 5"x7" canvas panel.

I have included a photo of the 2 hour mark below my final photo.

Thanks for looking!

Like your crop. You've caught the doll look very well

This looks good, I like the crop you've chosen. I'm one of those people who find dolls really creepy to look at but you've managed to soften the look. Nicely done!

It is so intense with the crop, and that's exciting ! You sure did a great job on the nose, hard to imagine you had to 'suffer' to get it just so ! Well done !
