Bluntest dart I've ever seen ! The twenties and thirties produced some odd looking specimens!

I agree, but, in actual fact these a/c were more successful in their role as Naval a/c than the Spitfire/Seafire.
The Blackburn Blackburn filled its role to a 'T'. In the Age of the Battleship its main role was spotting shot and Recon. A steady platform, slow speed reasonably long range and a large comfortable cabin for the Radio and Observer, and of course landing in one piece, something the Spitfire found quite difficult!

PS they were also the leftovers RAF didn't want.

I suppose if they did the job they were supposed to do well then brilliant :) still a strange looking plane .I suppose had the designers seen the more modern day i e Gannet ,Fairey Firefly they may have thought the same for looks.

A plane only the designer could love. As they say it doesn't have to be pretty only effective.

A beautiful painting of an ugly subject. Always enjoy your work.
