Some great images; thanks a lot. I might do another one if my husband would take the children to the playground again tomorrow :D

oil on canvas pad - 1,5 hours
yel ochre, cad red, black and white

I'm thinking of adding the trees tomorrow when it's dry but I'm not sure. I quite like the dramatic orangy background.

Lovely! I'll echo what others have said about the progress pics, it's great to see how it's developed (and see how other artists work!)

I love the dramatic orange BG as well. I though he looked angry too.

We have a long weekend and I installed a little studio in our office so I can paint more easily. I just have to walk in and I can paint so here is another one.

A bit less than an hour. Still trying the zorn palette.

I`m learning a lot thanks to these WDE fast exercises. I have a habit of going to dark. To many darks and to equal in the darks. It's like I start painting very stressed and it's only after I have laid in darks I start relaxing. I'm really wondering where that comes from. I really like the soft look of less dark paintings.

thank you for the wips..i like the dark areas on the angels for accents, and the orange b/g is wonderful......the trees are great with just enough darks ! tyree:wave:

Wow! Great work on both and we got the benefit of seeing the progress shots. I guess your husband took the kids to the park again =)

Watching the angel transform and take shape was exciting ! Thanks for the progress posts. He turned out loose and free, and like his energy was all directed at breaking that stick ! Beautiful job ! I can appreciate the trees and their entangled vigor too, but the angel is my fave if I had to pick.
