Thank you for looking. Found this scene last Saturday near the Chattahoochee River.

16 X 20.

This looks to me like it should be an illustration in a children's story book.

I really like this Cliff. Great clean colours.

asmith, not sure what that means, but there's a better photo in the next post.

Colin, thanks for the kind comment. I hope the better photo doesn't spoil your appreciation for the painting. It's a little darker.

The only mineral color on here is T. white. The sky is pt blue mixed with white, the trees on the left are multiple layers of pt blue thinned with matte medium and water with flow aid added. Application by silicon tool. The foreground greens are multiple layers of pt green thinned and applied the same way over a layer of thinned pt blue. The darker greens are pt green knocked back with napthol red light and the brighter greens are pt green + hansa yellow medium. The yellows are hansa yellow medium + white.

More accurate foto as promised. Still getting used to the quirks of my new cheap camera.

Funny about cameras - the first gives me a sense of strong sunlight and dense shade - the second is like a night scene! - two fer one!!!

I commented in the WOYE thread Cliff:)

Somewhere between the two lies the truth. Your first impression is closer to the reality of the painting, though.

love your abstraction of this scene and gutsy color.
