I painted this 18x24 acrylic on canvas as a gift for my son's teacher. I was working on tonal changes and depth in particular. I hope she likes it.

I hope she can see it
The image tool can be a force to be reconned with.

It's fabulous! Of coarse she'll like it (and remember your son forever).
I really like the trees- they have a very life-like feel to them

I agree with April about the trees. The sky is also exceptional and the water is very good to. Nice composition leading the eye right in.

Thanks very much Colin!
I think I'll add a lighter color on the sand closer to the grassy area. It keeps drying darker than what I start with. I hate that about acrylics.

I am sure the teacher will be delighted with this painting. I like the colours and the sense of movement in the trees - also those clouds scudding across the sky.

Thanks Chammi and asmith!
I appreciate the nice comments.
My son gave it to her this morning.
He said she nearly cried and loved it.
I'm so happy she liked it.

Thank you Michelle. I gave another teacher a 30x40 landscape today and she was super happy too. Any C&C are always welcome!

It's a very thoughtful gift - much moreso than buying chocs or flowers!:)
