I painted this 18x24 acrylic on canvas as a gift for my son's teacher. I was working on tonal changes and depth in particular. I hope she likes it.

It's fabulous! Of coarse she'll like it (and remember your son forever).
I really like the trees- they have a very life-like feel to them :thumbsup:

I agree with April about the trees. The sky is also exceptional and the water is very good to. Nice composition leading the eye right in.

I think I'll add a lighter color on the sand closer to the grassy area. It keeps drying darker than what I start with. I hate that about acrylics.

I am sure the teacher will be delighted with this painting. I like the colours and the sense of movement in the trees - also those clouds scudding across the sky.

My son gave it to her this morning.
He said she nearly cried and loved it.
