Done on Fabriano Tiziano 75lb.(160gsm tooth grain surface tinted a warm yellow-gold it lends itself to the overall mood for me anyway!
I'm really liking sketching and a value study in vine charcoal!!
It's the first time I've ever used it before and I just love it! I can get a wide range of value with a white pastel for my thumbnails and blends well and erases almost completely!! I love being a artist...truly I do!
I'm definitely going to make it part of my process my next painting it seems like I'm progressing considerably...I'm so darn excited!!
The demo is from a new book I bought called Pastel Painting step-by-step
By Margaret Evans,Paul Hardy and Peter Coombs.
I absolutely love the simplicity!
It truly is all about having a strong fundamental understanding of the basic principles for creating 3-dimensions with form and value!!
Seriously though this is a breakthrough experience for sure!!
Should I post a WIP of my next landscape here? In this thread?
The thumbnail sketch for this painting...http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/06-May-2015/1190917-1430897414620-1532302334.jpg

You are having way too much fun with this. I have not used the Fabriano paper. How does it compare to Canson? Painting these demos has really helped you progress quickly. It may be a good idea to post each WIP or painting in a separate thread. If someone sees that they opened or responded to a thread, they may not go back to the thread and will miss your new work.

This one is breathtaking! I love it! Wonderful composition, your thumbnail is great and led to an amazing painting. These techniques work so well for you! Go you! Frame this one. I'm serious. This is a winner. Post it into online contests. I am not kidding!
