9x12 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper done this afternoon in 1 hour, 15 min. This is wet on dry; I used the hawk for a teaching session with my young girls art class. It was quick and think the 15 minutes was spent answering their questions. My intentions were to go looser but you know what happens to good intentions  (Thanks Trimoon for the ref.)
C&C welcome :cat:

Beautifully done! I love how you used the reds and purples in his eye. He looks very concerned. Neat!

I wish I'd done things like this in art class! It's worked really well, I like the dark eye.

Wowsa !! I'm glad the little girls had questions... I personally would have been so awed that I'd have stood there with my mouth hanging open, speechless.

The hawk is really nicely done...

I haven't really done much watercolor myself... It kind of scares me as a medium, but then I've never taken a class for it....

Everyone on this site is so talented...

Hope I can fit in... Lol

Yes, it was flipped and painted from black and white copy, not color. Thanks all of you. Welcome, Karen, so good to have you as a new member. You will fit in just fine as we are all learning here.

Great watercolor portrait of the Hawk, with lovely loose colors.

Karen, welcome to the WDE. You'll fit in fine - this is a very mixed bunch of friendly people.
