This is the third in a series of acrylic work from my recent holiday in Mauritius. This time a boat study looking back to the shoreline of Grand Gaube Bay. 500mm x 400mm on stretched canvas.

Nice work! I love the details in the boat, the water, and the sky. I feel like I am there ready to go boating! Love the palm trees too!

Brings back wonderful memories of a two week stay on Mauritius. Nice peaceful scene and good work on the boat and the reflection.

Love the boat, but I am most impressed with your handling of the water in the left side of the boat.

Thanks all for your kind comments. I think water is one of the most challenging aspects of painting. Really artists are not painting water at all, just the reflections, at least for calmer waters. I have yet to try a really rough sea where reflections are minimalised, and achieve a satisfactory result, but I shall keep trying.

Any tips on the rough sea approach?
