This is a commission for my brother. Eddie used to love to fish. Here he is on my brother's fishing boat. I couldn't resist the reference to the famous actor, Eddie Fisher, haha!

sweet pose :)
this approach with segments rather than blended/modeled results is distinctive .

Hi Ed. Please elaborate, I am sorry but I don't understand what you are asking me. What segments in the painting are you asking me about?

This is a sweet painting! :) I like the effect of the cast shadow.

well , i got my foot out of my mouth , i think ...
- the strong backlighting of the head makes distinct value contrasts .
i didn't look carefully at the body = missed the subtle textures of the fur .
using just white<->black , and blue is striking/effective
as well as the composition with just three objects , and shadows . :)

Thanks, Ed, for clearing that up...I was very confused for a while!

Aww this is cute! Great expression and I can so see this capturing that little dog's real experience and joys! Beautiful drama with the light and water gradient. Gorgeous color. Wonderful painting overall!
I love the contrast in this, the water is beautiful
