Thanks for hosting Kat and your wonderful fairytale pictures. I chose the musicians this time and it took 2 hours. It is acrylic on canvas measuring 12 x 16 inches. I like the guitarists right foot.
Thanks for looking
All C and C welcome

I enjoy the blues with the STARTLE of guitars! Great faces BUT the RED blocks meld it all together!

I am tempted by the same reference photo but it's schoolholidays here and I find no time at all to work longer than 5 minutes.

I love your painting. Even more than on the reference photo you made a very intimate little world these two musicians are in. It makes me wonder who they are. Just friends, maybe brothers, ... ? definitely two people who understand each other, maybe even without words.
Wauw I'm blabbing a bit but it really speaks to me. I still don't really understand why it is that some paintings speak to me more than others. Is it the colors, the subject, the lines, everything together...?

I agree with you on the guitarist leg and foot. It looks so elegant, especially next to the more boney, angular legs of the violin player.

It's really a great piece, loose and drippy, that pulls the viewer in for a closer look.

Great loose painting Christine. You have captured the gestures and feel of the scene.

The loose style has an attractiveness to it.

I loved this photo too, but was stopped in my tracks by its complexity. You have really done this justice... very 'painterly', full of action and information. Wonderful work !!
