Hi This is done in black acrylic ink w/ wash on canvas and is 8x11. No white was needed. A pen knife was used to scratch out a lot of details. It was from a photo taken in the metropolis of Frankford, De (USA) Comments/crits welcome. Thanks for looking!

Hi Chris! This is really an amazing piece. The underlying drawing is excellent, but the thing I find most amazing is that the details were scratched out with a penknife. I can't even imagine how difficult that must have been. Seems that you haven't stopped experimenting with materials and techniques - good for you! I like the range of values here too - it seems spot on. I hope you'll have more to show us in the future here in Cityscapes!

The tank cars look really great - nice detail work. I like the grayscale effect, but would also like to see this scene in "living color"!
Chris: love the black and white. I can feel the gritty steel of that train car. Wonderful mood.

This works so well with the limited palette.

This is lovely, the contrast on the trailer gives a good chrome effect and a very atmospheric, industrial dirty feel
B&W really helps set the mood. Good work!
