This one was an experiment to see if I could paint and old truck using a palette knife. About 80% of this is palette knife, I pretty much used the brush just for some details and tidying up of some edges. 11" X 14"

That's so impressive. I have never been able to exert enough control over a palette knife to do a realistic painting.

It works well with a truck of this age and in the "relaxed" state of life.

I love it. My only crit is that the bed of the truck seems lifted off the ground. Perhaps a couple of tall grasses at the back tires would anchor it.

Ol' Blue, you've done some living, haven't you? Now set out in the field and forgotten...what memories you hold.

I'd add to the above that the bed of the truck seems a little short to me also, but I do like the front a lot. I have seen many of Ol' Blue's kind out there in the Maine woods.

Thanks Tami, I think it just takes practice, however it wasn't palette knife alone, there's plenty of brushwork used to clean up edges and add details and adjust tones where necessary to indicate form.

Thanks Jon, Jocko, Gayle. You're right Gayle, I need to ground that rear tire better.

Thanks Michelle, Joachim, Lynne. Yes, the bed is short but it's short on the real truck, it does seem a bit odd but that's the way it is. I could have changed it but I kinda liked it the way it is.
