For an old fishing buddy of mine. just a great looking fishing spot .
Landscapes are just not my thing. I think the morning mist came out OK, but the rest ...??? I'm adding some shoreline vegetation.
C&C needed.
36 x24 canvas panel, acrylics

Did you use a reference for this? First thing I wonder is if that path is right. And maybe it shouldn't stand out so much. And the reflections on the water don't match the scene. The mist is nice, I can almost feel that cool morning air.

Eric, what should I see first when I look at this painting?

A lot of it is pretty well done.

Michelle's comments are right on. My question will lead to more global things, or so I suspect.

I rendered 2 different photos to come up with this scene.
Thanks all for the needed C&C and I think I heeded your advice on reflections. Looks much better. I also added some shoreline vegetation.
Not sure what the 1st vocal point should be, the mist on the water I guess.

Lovely mist in the background. I like the improvements you made to the house. It looked a little "preliminary" to start but you have darkened the windows and it fits in better.

What if you added a fish jumping out of the water?

I like what you did with the close shoreline, the little plants sticking up are a nice touch.
