I would like to get back into drawing portraits. I have many types of papers, Bristol vellum,bristol Smooth pro Art Sketch,many types of pencils but was wondering what paper is best for drawing portraits and any other advice to get back into portraits.:o :o :o :o

It has been my exprience that paper choice is very personal and it depends on the type of portrait you want to do. If you want your lines to be crisp and defined as well as the smoothest of skin tones.. I would go with the bristol or Canson smooths/plates type papers.
If you are doing a portrait with lots of different textures, go with a paper that has a little more "tooth" to it.
As far as pencils, personally, I totally love my 5mm mechanical pencils.. I use 2B and HB leads. But for more diversity in textures and values, the general graphite pencils with wider ranges would be a better choice.
Don't know if that helped you much but I am still a bit new to the papers myself. I can only go by what my experience has been.
