I love Wendy's work, and could not resist her Prince Edward Island picture. Here is my version using Michaels Oil Pastels, finished with a few touches of Caran D'ache Neopastels on Mi Teintes grey/blue pastel paper covered with Liquitex clear Gesso mixed with Black Acrylic paint to give some tooth to the surface. Size 6X9 and about 2 hours work (Constantly interrupted by The Masters Golf, Key British soccer games, and a Sunday afternoon choir practice.)http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/13-Apr-2015/1962159-IMG_0513_-_Copy_2_-_Copy.JPG

A good crop of the photo, lovely colours and I like the texture of the surface too.

You, like Wendy, use pastels the way I would like to but never manage!
This is a beauty Rodney - really nice use of colour.
(I like your interruptions too - they kept doing that to me also!!!!!!)

Not surprising seeing as Wendy is my mentor, and now friend!
I was close to quitting with the oil pastels when I met Wendy, and she taught me a lot about the "How" of using them.
Thank You for your kind comments.

What beautiful texture throughout, and love how the tree branches become lacy and fade off into the sky. I can just feel the heat of the day, and the refreshing breeze blowing up from the sea.... so very nice.
