I got a very late start today with a visit to the local arboretum. I am participating in a plein air event there later in the week and it has been a while since my last visit there. I got set up, took some photos, did some thumbnails and got my alcohol wash and some first layers of pastel when it got very dark and stormy looking. I had to pack up and head home.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/12-Apr-2015/979782-Afternoon_Shadows.jpg

This is very nice Debbie. Great sense of light.

Wow! Debbie, the light in this is wonderful. I love the intensity of it and the freshness. Glad the weather interrupted because it's perfect as is, could be easy to overwork otherwise.

Debbie, I agree with Robert--it's finished! Unless...if that spot of light blue in the upper right corner is a sky hole through the trees, then I think some light blue throughout the sky would make sense. Small nitpicky point, and I'm sorry I can't tell whether that's sky showing through or highlighted tree foliage there. But your painting is beautiful, very peaceful. Your colors for the walkway and trees are spot on!

Terrific light and color in this- most especially in the back line of trees! Not much is needed, and you'll do great in your event. Good luck- hope to hear of your awards and sales!

Blayne, thanks for your input...it must be the camera, as this is not a good picture. That area in the right hand corner is a pale, warm yellow like the rest of the sky....a sky hole!
