I like it - A LOT!!! The color of his head wrap is perfect. And as Kay says, nice work on the salt and pepper facial hair AND at the temple!

I think you should stray more often. Maybe the paper is hard to work with pastels but you achieved a stunning result none the less.
It's ok for you to stray Tyree. You did well with the charcoal pencil.

I love the addition of colour and you apply it with the same strength and confidence as you do your pencil work. Do some more please.

The colours are so rich, they sing ! His complexion is beautifully done - he's seen a lot of weather ! His grizzled beard is perfect. Obviously, your strolling outside your comfort zone is something you should make a habit !
