Thanks for hosting team, I loved the rose reference and was going to give them a go in inks after being inspired by Maureens contribution. In the end I was too lazy to drag them out so went with acrylic on canvas 12 x 16 inches and took 90 minutes

Wow those colors. Everybody here is so good in color use. It makes me think of van gogh. Do you keep your acrylics wet while working? Do you use any mediums? I started painting with acrylics but it just did'nt work for me. The colors were to hard, the drying to fast, all sharp edges, ... It always amazes me people can do so wonderful things with acrylics.

The roses have such a heavy feel to them, you know, the expensive kind :) Especially the white ones with all the little color touches.

Hi Marie, I use a wet pallet and just water no mediums. I use it like watercolour to start and then come in thicker as the painting develops. I like to work fast so acrylics are perfect for me and are very forgiving. If it is a total disaster then I just use it for the base of the next painting.

Hahah Christine - I'm lazy too which is why I often don't drag the inks out myself!!!!!!!!

Love this ac. ptg though - it's so lively - lovely impressionistic roses and a delightfully shiny vase!

I'm too lazy to drag out the acrylics or the inks so just went with one acrylic color and the watercolors. No matter what medium you use, you never disappoint us viewers. This one is stunning from top to bottom.

Love the crop - you are braver than me to even approach this complex subject ! But OH ! how beautifully this turned out ! The subtle colours in the white roses are gorgeous, and really highlighted by the delicious colours in the other roses and the beautiful painterly vase. Beauty !

I'm glad I didn't look at yours before I attempted mine. I wouldn't have even started. Truly beautiful expressionist painting. You know I love your work!

Love your roses and the reflective vase. Can see how your colors also worked on the portrait of Netty. Beautiful.
