Here's today's work, an attempt at an Arabian head portrait from memory. Any crits or suggestions are always welcome.

From memory? That's pretty good.

Actually, everything I've been doing has been from memory, I have been going through the library here though, and am going to try using a picture reference for some stuff coming up though. I've never really done that.

I have no idea what an Arabian horse looks like, but that's a pretty neat picture.
What's the size?

Thanks Cliff. I did it on a 5x7 canvas board... now wishing I had gone ahead and put it on a 16x20 canvas... lol. Next time. Horses are kind of a fall back for me. While my painting techniques are far from perfect yet, I can draw them from memory pretty much in my sleep.

That's really good from memory. Usually a sign that you've drawn something a lot lol.

Thanks Michelle. Yeah, horses have always been a fascination for me, and over the years have owned several along with drawing them since childhood.

I really like the way you painted this...and from memory!!
At my age this is what I would paint from memory:
(I can't remember much anymore ) ;)
