First I did this of Blood Orange slices. 5x7"
Then I decided to do another with a red underpainting and make it 9x12" with wrap around edges. I adjusted colors more to my liking.

I like the dramatic lighting that is reinforced with the use of compliment colors.

I like the colours here better than the first, though I see no traces of the red underpainting!:lol:
Do like those slices though:)
Love the drama of those dark, strong shadows.

Maureen, the red underpainting doesn't come through much, since the paint is opaque, but it's present as an out line of shapes, the edges and a few places where the paint isn't covered completely.
