Attached a screen shot with reference image (tower bridge London)
If I switch on the perspective guides in painter x5 the guide lines do not match the reference photograph along side my sketch.

What am I not understanding using this tool?

I don't know how that tool works, but I can see that the eye level line is set way too high. There is a figure on the grass - surely your eye level would more or less pass through his eyes?

I have made some headway with the perspective tool.

I found if I made a new file measuring 75mm x 50 mm (in other words small) The perspective guide lines and eye level line was then movable by dragging the nodes. This is not possible using my normal landscape 37cmx25cm.

There are uses for this tool if wanting to work with perspective guides and buildings etc. but then I would most probably go to Sketch up.

At the present time I cannot see a use for this tool with artistic landscapes unless someone advises me otherwise.

I have painter 2017 but have never used this perspective grid. However, I trolled Corel and found this older explanation of the grids use.
